LOBB / Nikon D300 + Nikon 80-200 f/2.8 AF-D @ 80mm - 1/320sec, f/4.5, ISO 400
I was out in Falkenberg for Scandinavian Open / Scandinavian Masters (SuperBike) last saturday.
Tried my hand at photographing fast moving subjects, and boy was it hard to focus properly when you’re shoting at 8-9 FPS while the contestants drive past you at speeds well above 230km/h.
Anyway, the only thing I can say is that this is the first time the autofocus was too slow to keep up on my trusty Nikkor 80-200/2.8 AF-D (from 1992)… then again, I gave about 450$ for it, so it’s still a good buy :-)
This is the winner in frenetic celebration at approx. 100km/h. These dudes laugh at the concept of fear.
