In the woods of Yosemite #photog:

LOBB (Large on black background)
This is a shot from last years (2008) roadtrip throughout California, with my good friend Martin.
We had been driving around California, from city to city for a good couple of weeks when we decided we wanted to go somewhere quieter.
We had already had time to see Los Angeles, San Diego and Las Vegas, and especially after Vegas, we wanted to go somewhere to the opposite of all that hectric city-life.
After two days of driving (with a quick sleepover in Bakersfield), we arrived at Yosemite National Park with no clue as to where we would stay.
Our trusty GPS (?) came to the rescue, and we found this little place called Wawova Hotel. It had a golf course which pretty much sealed the deal for Martin.
We were informed by the receptionist that they didn’t have any available rooms left, and neither did any other hotels in the area. After a bit of persuasion she let us use a small, single-bed room ment for day-time relaxing for the personel.
Exhausted, we went to sleep for a while, and woke up to a piano playing just outside our door. When I opened it up, I was right in the middle of a little night-time entertainment with people playing cards, chess and listening to some piano-playing while enjoying a drink.
It felt awkward stepping out from our closet of a room with a male friend, right into this. It was even more awkward taking a shot, then realizing the flash was on.
Anyway…. I’m hopefully going back to the states come next year, this time for a roadtrip throughout the eastcoast!
