LOBB (Large on black background)
Nikon D300 + Nikkor 50mm f/1.8 @ 50mm - 1/80sec, f/1.8, ISO 100.
Strobist info: 1xSB600 camera left, mid-high in TTL mode set to -2 EV. On-camera flash in TTL set to -0.7 EV.
This is the second day with a stunningly beautiful sunset. I didn’t have access to that awesome Sigma 30/1.4, so I used my own Nikkor 50/1.8D instead. The bokeh is really different from what I fell in love with, with the Sigma.
Anyway. This is getting to be quite a series of night-time sunset portraits :-)
What amazes me is that all of these shots are basically straight out of the camera, with minor sharpening applied to it, and thats it. I love strobes now :)
Also, I just got a text from a friend who is visiting NYC at the moment, that he just got me another Nikon SB600 flash! Yay! Gotta love CLS. 2xSB600 and the on-camera flash unit can probably make wonders! I just need to get a softbox or two…. and umbrellas :-)
This is from Sillvik, where I was out tonight, for another sunset walk with John Kangas.
